So, I don't even have much art in my gallery, I tend to leave a lot of pieces unfinished, which is a bad practice especially at this starting point in my pixel art career I'm at. But I'm working on it. The first step is submitting this stuff and moving on.
So, let's get this over with:
0- ItemGFX Orb- Basically my very first piece of pixel art. I drew it for a game I used to play, and when I was done I just said 'Wow, did I just draw that?' I think that's when I really started to delve deeper into this.
1- Ground Tiles-I've always been interested in making game art, specifically, so after a long time lurking around Pixelation and PJ, 'researching' I decided to make my first post and open up my first thread with these tiles, to get critiqued on.
2- Tree - Later in that thread, I drew a tree. I could never work myself up to doing the canopy, didn't really know how to start it. On the right is my crappy attempt at doing a bit of detailing.
3- An edit I did for someone's doll sprite on a game development forum. Original on the very left.
4- A battle axe I drew for those forums. Finished but not worth submitting on it's own.
5- Some more items for the forums. Lances or spears or whatever you want to call them.
6- Nothing important really, but I was doodling around one day, and I grabbed a 2x2 brush in paint, and started randomly dotting the canopy of a tree, and I really liked the outcome, so I saved it.
7- I don't know.. some small pit/trap thing I liked.
8- Doodling/experimenting around, drawing sprites and items.
9- A wizard sprite, using the SD3 palette. Really liked this one, too.
10- It's itty bitty, but it's a ranger/archer hat. Or a robin hood hat. I liked it.
11- A small exit/power button that uses a ton of colors, and was good AA practice.
12- Some cartoony sprites. I just want to whack them in a game, everytime I see them.
13- Attempted doing a 16x16 item. A 'star rod' to be exact.
14- Heavy WIP entry to the 'The Creatures Noah Forgot' PJ challenge.
15- Futuristic Pong paddle and ball, for a friend. Very quickly made.
16- An edit I did for someone on Pixelation. I put a lot of time into it. Original is on the far left.
17- Progression of a doodle of a strange green head, to a cool alien sprite, that I had no idea how to finish.
18- Cupcake.. You don't want to know the stupid story behind this one. =]
19- An archer I created for a mockup for a PJ challenge. Forgot which one.
20 & 21- Commissioned art for a friend. I think I was experimenting around too much, and thus wasn't very satisfied with the result (although he was).. and the styles don't match. But I do love those combo locks!
22- Just had an idea, and I started it, then I stopped and never finished it.
23- A sprite a friend asked me to draw for him. I don't like it, but he does.
24- I failed at drawing Scorpion.
25- I don't know why I like this so much, but I do. Just a doodle using MS Paint default colors. It has a kind of charm to it, I think.
26- Idkwtfthisis. Bob.
27- An 'Orc' sprite for the gaming forums, a request.
28- Grass tiles for the gaming forums, a request. Only the first one really tiles well on it's own though.
These are numbered from least recent (0) to most recent (28). Have I improved? |
17 + 27 are pretty good and are at the end so you have improved.
