Whoa, Gentleman Death sure knows how to camouflage himself :)
And, coincidentally, I've just had some ćevapi for lunch, and not some cheap knockoffs you can find anywhere, but masterpiece meat straight from Novi Pazar! :)
Great piece, I admire the palette. Also, I dare any non-native speakers to try and pronounce "bdž" :)
Dude Niiice! I hadn't seen this yet, great job! Reminds me a little of Tomic's pixel art, but with a twist!
Must've missed this one. Nice work as usual, Big Bro. The owners of the shop must be thrilled to know that their workplace has been immortalised in history through a work of art.
Awesome perspective! Just to point out a small detail, that chain fence you did is insane. I have no clue how you made it actually work with the curve near the building.
Technique isn't worth anything without good ideas, in my particular opinion, so, great job. You scored 10 out of 10 in both requisites =)
The whole piece just gives off an overall mood of style. And what a great use of colors =)
Hm, not sure if it didn't update or it wasn't clear what part I was talking about, anyway, I made an edit to illustrate my point. I feel that in your version the dithering is far too overt and doesn't really blend well.
BTW, great imagination with Gentleman Death; I can't look at that photo without seeing him. Makes me wanna go out and pixel a nearby restaurant, perhaps with a covert restaurant mascot too. Go go gadget resturant fad.
My favourite thing about this is that it just exuuuuuudes style. I like pixel art best when good technique is side by side with originality and style, and this totally fits the bill. Inspiring! You make me want to work harder. :D
Also the preview image's "do it now!" makes me crack up.
Thanks for the commments! I like that Google ads suggests "fine dining" underneath the description.
Skamocore: I tried to tighten up the fugly dithering you mentioned. Let's see if Pixeljoint updates the pic. The palette seems more like a partial EGA than C64 to me, but I can see why it would remind you of the latter, especially considering the dark shades.
Tomic: I doubt this is beyond your skills. I definitely was inspired by your style for this piece and Swagga. The beer label was a happy coincidence.
Sharprm: It may indeed be a foot.
Yair: Is it too wobbly?
ElectroNico: Thanks for the compliments! The font was done by hand, no text tool.
Jamon: I've never eaten at this place, but I've walked past it a bunch. Would you recommend "cevapici" or will it kill me? :)
Did you try "cevapici"? or what we call it here 10 with onion.... =)
@yair: sierra tango foxtrott uniform! a quick view into your gallery (well, actually already a view onto your avatar) shows how much that opinion counts.
seconding dex about the weekly showcase..
Great style, i really like the curves of the whole picture, especially the sky's ones. The wire fence at the foreground is really great ! Tell me that you wrote the restaurant banner with the text tool, otherwise if you did not it is really impressive ;)
is this a serious comment i can't tell
also why isn't this in the showcase yet ):
is that a foot coming out of garbage bad? edit: i meant bag
Great pic!
The grey lines around the red clash a little on the sign, but the thing that impresses me most is the way you handled the text and fonts, which is amazing!
If its a true place then that restaurant totally needs to buy rights to this piece and make t-shirts. Id buy it.
@reo: no way guys, this is far beyond my skills!
many, many ways of delicious! diggin' this special flow you're giving to skies.. and yey: downpipes ;D no need to mention that lightning and pose are top-notch of corse.
@alkaline: great research! i've done a bit of google imagesearch following your hint and can i even recognize that yummy fence.
edit: on a sidenote, your previewthumb reminds me of the delicious beer from my childhood.. ehm hometown ;D if the rating limit wasn't already reached i'd give extra dots for this ;D
it is an actual restaraunt in queens. i did mah research.
great piece.
Wow, impressive as usual!
I agree with Cure, reminds me of tomic!
Ah-may-zing. I love every single pixel of it. Except the fugly ones, maybe.
I'm going to study that color technique.
Hawt. I'd dine there. Wonderful job on the palette, feels almost Seesixtyfour-ish. Love the wacky windows and the clouds.
Although, What's with the fugly dithering above the heart?
EFFIN love it :) very well done, colors are amazing!
Whitepages.com tells me it's Sarajevo Fast Foods in NY. No surprises there...
Nice piece! I love the perspective, and you did well with the limited palette. Nice job!
It may just be personal preference of something to do with the fact I can't read / associate with the context of it but this piece doesn't draw my attention. I will say that seeing that it is only 16 colors did impress me! Thank you for sharing your effort and proving a lot can be done with 16 colors.
