This piece has so much life to it - it's simply beautiful. What I've learned here is that even with light colors, you can still make things pop.
pixel-perfect art, the atmosphere and the colors are nice ... Favorited
Lovely! although I think that bridge's perspective is a little confusing. Anyway I really like the piece : )
thank you theo, i really appreciate the compliment! hopefully you'll be seeing some new stuff soon
This is amazing! Very ethereal, it feels like I am going to get cotton candy candy if I walk across that bridge.
Well deserved second place! Congrats my artistic friend. =)
This ... is ... just ... awesome Dex!!!
I'm just looking for this style in my game, is it possibel to help me out?
I'm in need of such awesome landscapes, sended you a PM.
Kind Regards,
~XverhelstX!
I absolutely love the colours, light and contrast of this! Awesome! I could start daydreaming staring at this!
Congrats on being a terrible poster.
If you feel something is wrong with it, tell me why, rather than posting 'I don't like this' like a straight up jerk, bro. If you don't like the style and have nothing else to add other than that, please refrain from commenting. Thanks. And the bridge's perspective is a tad off; congrats, that nowhere means the rest of the scene is so PICASSO. Your comment seems more like you're coming at me rather than trying to be helpful.
At everyone else, thanks a lot, you guys are awesome.
EDIT: Inq, If you want to reply to this post, send me a PM or hit me up on MSN. Don't derail the thread.
Beeeeauutiful... the only thing I don't get is how you controlled the colours so nicely, keeping them somewhat muted, but then the sky is so over-exposed, like there's this harsh bloom-effect there... it's as though there was an atom bomb that went off in the distance, that's how bright it looks. I guess it's because it's Eden in the distance, so there's a kind of holy glow emanating...? Well, it's good nonetheless.
Dexellent! You have a unique and unmistakable style...a bit like reading childrens books on LSD
This makes me wonder where the path goes. A new mystery awaits!
As green said ... it looks so good - for a moment even i thought it was Fools'
Again - very nicely done!!!
It's really relaxing and made me feel good ... cuz i'm ill :[
Holy man, that's so beautifull, had a great sensation of peace :3
In-credi-ble! Its fantastic - looks so real ... its like im on that bridge!
some people like the crazy perspective, so i'm not worried about it :) I'll definitely pay more attention next time, though!
cheers, everyone!
"*nitpick -The angle of the rocks (perspective) on the bridge are too off." - Haha, yes he's painfully aware.
Good job on it. Upward and onward.
Very nice piece.
*nitpick -The angle of the rocks (perspective) on the bridge are too off.
Wonderful piece. I really like your pixelartworks. They are getting better and better. Really love the colors in this one, as well as the overall style.
I love your work, though you seem to be improving with every piece and soon perspective won't be a problem. A shame as I like these.
Another good Job
This piece still has many wrong things which need to discuss.
But we can see here much work, and your searching, and it deserves praises.
Beautiful colors , Some perspective a bit off, but what a wonderful piece. It makes me want to go to that place and just sit and listen to the little creek. Great job :)
I love this piece. Definitely a 5/5. The only comment I could make would be about the large blank white sky, but even that looks very good here.
I went to Pixelnation and read the C&C there... some really good advice. My two bits: perspective issues aside, I really like this piece. It comes across as though errors were purposeful (I get the feeling they weren't after reading the thread, but again I like it anyway). Secondly, I don't think that standard "accurate" perspective is absolutely required for every drawing, but my teachers gave me good advice: "Learn to render form accurately before you create abstractions of form. That way, you'll have the spatial knowledge required to have your abstract form represent what you intend." Great work! :-)
I absolutely love the blue-white ramp in the sky and water <3
(btw, I think that the reason the bridge looks odd is that the underside edge of the arch becomes indistinct against the more vertical bit on the far side)
Fact: Anything with Eden in the title must be epic.
This is seriously one of the greatest pieces I have seen from you, and it still has that Dex style to it!
Good stuff. Some issues with the perspective on the bridge but maybe that's intentional?
For a second there I thought it was one of Fools. O_O
Dex tied me up in a bag, and drug me back to this place just to Fav and Rate this thing. But now after looking at it for a little bit and admiring the fantastic color use and composition I'm glad he tied me up in that bag and drug me here.
Bridge to Eden...comes at a good time right after playing a ton of Assassin's Creed II and it's Apple, a piece of Eden.
A masterpiece
