You can still update it within the next 18 hours before the challenge deadline.
I like colours. I couldn't resist ^^' I'll try to get myself under control in the future, though.
Ah, yes! It seems so obvious now that you said it. I really should've done that -_-
Very nice charcters. However, I agree with the others about the AA, this appears out of focus in some places. Just because colours are unrestricted doesn't mean you need to use as many as possible!
About the die, I think you're better off using a number which makes the fact that it is a die more conspicuous. For example, I think it would be clearer with the number 6 instead of 1. As Ryath said, at the moment it does actually look like some kind of eye.
Thank you!
It's the die used in the game. I wanted to incorporate it in the label-thing and made it 2dlooking
Agreed about the over AA. I think that the straight lines not only need no AA but to have more contrast - on the face of the third robot especially the lightbulb sort of melds into the face. Some of the AA (Chalkboard marks) could do with reduction, as well as more contrast to the white.
I very much like the idea and a lot of the sprites themselves. I agree with Manupix about the overdone AA, it's simply too much.
As another way to reduce colors, the robot on the right's colors could be used for the menu background on the left. Lastly, the square iris looks a little odd on the menu's eye, but that could could just be personal preference. I think that's an eye, at least.
Nice one, but the AA overkill doesn't help it.
It looks like the texts are either photoshop fonts and/or resized with auto-AA. I'm not saying they are, just look like! There's only 3 or 4 colors in each of them anyway, so it's obviously manual, but overdone.
0° and 90° lines do not need AA which just blurs them; 45° lines usually don't need it either. Edit here of the lower right corner; it could probably be cleaned up further, up to you. The idea of chalk writing on a blackboard is nice though.
Same thing for the robots: they could look more crisp.
81 colors: that's a lot... The point in palette restriction is not just a rule, it's about making better art, ya know! ;)
There's no reason the blackboard greys would not be the same as the robot greys, for instance.
I could've? damn >_>
