when he screams he totally bought me xD... nice one!
Its great, too bad its not used ingame, wouldnt be too hard to doo and also other files for this project could be put to use cause they looks great and its sad that it was all for nothing so even incomplete game version would still be something.
the best part is when he screams, how he shakes his head while he does it,
wow simply stunning animating skills ;w;
I really like your animation. Very well done piece, indeed.
Best Pixel Art Evar... Seariously I love this, one of my first faves... can't wait for more of your art fool :)
Finish this, you fool!
This is so amazing. Bunny's ears actually stiffen for the roar!!! O.O
good extrealy good. i wana now with what program peole make these PEASE IF YOU KNOW POST ME A MESAGE!
I was thinking of why this seems so familiar... I just now remember though that it reminds me a lot of Narnia; at the end when all the animals were dressed in armor. However, there were no rabbits, but I think this strikes me as similar to the beavers.
Theres something weird about the first couple frames when he jumps. The legs kinda look like he's falling or something.
Other than that its perfect. :P
Reminds me of Redwall. Good work on the animation!
haha, i also can live with that. but only that you knwo that :P
So you do take a layered approach? It's just when I do animations, I tend to have found that if I go in all detail first, even when I'm just pixel shifting, I can get horribly lost and wind up making a very messy animation with a lot of the body details wiggling all over the place. I'm very impressed with how the details of the shoulderpad, or the chainmail flow so smoothly withthe whole movement of the fearsome bunny warrior.
When you come to animate a mace-wielding mole or something, make sure to save up all the WIP shots. :D
Also I should mention that the motion blur on the swing of the sword is a class act. I downloaded the gif and studied the motion blur pixelling intensely.
The Inquisitor, I put few links in the postso you get an idea. Generally I make a doodle just to have a clue, then break it into parts and follow with a sprite. The whole thing of that one contain 5 animation in one sequence - idle, roar, lower swing, run and jump.
Some part that not changing dramatically from frame to frame are edited from previous, others - redrawn, but it already colored, yes.
you gotta be kidding me
i braced myself, but still. i'm amazed.
Outstanding as always, Fool...blah blah blah, yes, you know what I think of your work.
How do you plan out your animations? At 72 frames you surely cannot roll it off at the drop of a hat. Do you pixel in certain key frames first and then fill in the gaps to make it smoother? Also do you pixel out the animation with flat colours first or go steaming in straight with the details?
The B.O.B, no, not really trained here, got a book, but don't have a chance to read it - it felt behind the computer table.=) Just a hobby. And a bit of commercial game animation on freelance basis for wayforward.
bitswitcher, I could live with it.=)
jaumeAV, if something complicated usually do some roughg doodle animation first on the side of canvas and use it as reference.
wow! this is amazing!
one question, do you do pencil animatics first to test the animation? i'm getting into pixel-art and animation, and im sort of doing pencil tests first to get it right..
great stuff :)
" the project I most likely will leave unfinished" ....NOOOOOOOOO! Please no!
I could watch that little Bunny warrior all day (and have been!)
Fool's desktop trashcan must be like a treasure chest of awesomeness to the rest of us!!
love it, but when he jumps, and he come down the sword goes trough his leg.
very amazing! reminds me of a series of books i used to read called "redwall," with the fuzzy warriors and what not.
What a rage!
Listen to Accept's "Fast As A Shark". Listen to the scream about 22 sec's into the tune.
(Obviously the artist had that in mind when drawing this masterpiece.)
Bunny! Warrior bunny even! I love this. I would die to see my Bigwig (RIP) do that. :D
Heh, Battle bunny. I love the war cry in the beginning. I'm curious, I know you make violins for a living, but did you ever take any animation courses professionally, or was it always a hobby you've grown to get better at? Also, I'd be amazed if you've never worked on a commercial game before.
Oh well, back to plotting against the old violinist...
I really like the smoothness of the animation and the really good characterization of the bunny.
It reminds me of Robin Hood (the Disney cartoon) characters, but better shaded.
It is brilliant! I have always admired your work. Thank you for the joy :)
Awsome moves, Fool. You have such flow in your pixels and animation, it's so inspiring. I really hope I grow to be as well experienced in the pixel field like you. Simply amazing.
Thanks for the comments, good people.=)
Mathias, thanks for the plug, man, though it still in a bugs cathing stage.
sharprm, it is not finished yet - was waitng for bacgrounds to tweak colors and fix outline, but havent planed any fur texture, tried to keep it as simple as I could. But since I droping that project off - I just pushed that piece to more or less presentable state.
Adarias, yeah, I think I've seen every 2d animated piece from disney. There was a time when my 13 years old daughter was tossing me tapes her mother used to buy her by piles, in exchange I rent for kid all rated crap of horrors.=)
A game with this is most probably one that id gladly pay for. Just love your stuff. All of it. o.o
thats great. im interested to know what u would do before it would be finished (would u add fur texture?)
amazing! The animation is really nice. I especially like when the bunny leaps up.
..and I laughed "armagedon's coming"
and it's nice to see your site going more. I visited not to long ago and there wasn't anything, looks great!
don't dump it though! that sprite is simply A M A Z I N G :D
aww gawd.. wish that website was MINE xD SO JEALOUS!
I Love IT IT's Sooo Lovelyyyy, amazing, i love the animation it's fantastic
Brilliant animation! Each frame majestic. There's some very well done subpixeling going on here, especially apparent in how the chestplate and shoulder guard rivets/bolts animate. Wow.
And as usual, the character is amusing and well designed.

Holy crap, go check out Fool's new website design!! www.foolstown.com
Amazing, reminds me of the alice rabbit but with some armor
good
