Sun and foreground are in themselves excellent. The two combined, as Manupix put it, do look a bit weird considering the ligthning.
Impressive work anyways.
Nice, but the lighting doesn't fit the atmosphere / situation.
The sun being supposed to be so much more powerful than any other light source, the scene should be only backlit.
The light from the front (although very good in itself) gives a feeling of an ordinary amount of light, and consequently the sun feels like a small lava field, at most.
That, or I don't understand the picture. ;)
Looks very impresive.=) Character will definetly add some story to it.
I like this a lot. The scene seams kinda empty though. How about adding something small instead of the complex character. Something what would dramatize the scene eg. bloody cloth, a gun, hand of a hanging person we wouldn't see etc.
the preview looks fantastic. would work as an underground game level. why is there a white rung in the bottom right corner what is that?
That's funny - I was listening to Empire of the Sun when I clicked on this image. I think it's really well done, but I think a character would be a good idea to put the whole piece in context. Right now I'm not 100% sure what it is.
That's simply amazing, I especially adore the steampunk-feeling of it, can't wait to see more.
Thanks everyone =).
skamocore > I could have made larger image but it was only for accustom myself with the "Paint" of windows seven. So I wouldn't have a big and hard thing to do.
Looks great, but to be honest, it looks like a crop of a larger image; the current composition doesn't give much indication as to what's going on. As you mention, adding a character may help.
Also, I think you might need to increase the contrast of the sun. To me this doesn't really have the appearance or impact I would expect from an image of the sun; it seems a bit dull and washed out. I made a quick colour edit.
Superman would love to stay here XD
