We already had an argument on Dithering on Eclipse.. And yes It gives a sense of texture, guess what HAS a texture. That would be skin. Thanks for the crit. I'm sure I could touch up the colors a bit, but seeing as its been submitted for a challenge, its a tad to late to change anything.
As for shortening the fingers, Its not that they are long, its that the knuckles aren't really visible, which is because i quickly finished to submit it so that i didn't miss the deadline since i was busy the following day.
Well then I recommend you shorten the finger length or fix a depth issue. Okay if that is what your take on dithering is, then it isn't done well here. Dithering gives a false texture if you want to know my take on it. It was just some criticism. I would work on the colors a bit too if you want more criticism to completely disagree with.
Slym.. ugh. Make a fist.. you don't see your fingernails.. and dithering isn't bad if its done well.. like it is here.
This is to awesome, I love the Dithering ;u; <3 And the colors are so nice to
Way too much dithering :(. I dislike how I can't tell if the hand on the right has fingernails or not.
@ All
Thanks so much for the kind words and support of it. @ Apixel I've heard of Stickshift, when someone goes to fish bump, you grab their hand and jerk it around. @ Chrispy I'm having a hard time picturing this in my head.
There's also jellyfish, where before the person high fives you you pull your hand back and try to use your fingers to make your hand look like a jellyfish
This is great! I like the preview... it seems to add to the idea.
Great color choice too, just enough red.
btw the snail one is for fist bumping. The second person make a peace sign (thumb down, hand parallel to the ground) and slides his hand under the fist of the person attempting to fist bump. SNAIL! :p
Good luck in the challenge, seems to me like you have a good chance of winning
Thank you for explaining the knuckles thing : ). The only reason I am against dithering is because it is an uncontrollable texture, not that it isn't texture, it just isn't a real texture. It is a sandy, grain-like texture.
