This started ages ago as an attempt at the Final Boss mockup challenge. Didn't go further than the boss basic shading though.
In this game, you'd be in charge of a team of road workers whose job is to fix a cliff road. You would start with a supply of tools, explosives, building materials and weapons. You would need to clear obstructions, build bridges across chasms and consolidate cliff walls while being harrassed by enemies, thunderbolts and rockslides.
When you'd see the end coming near, this huge steam roller of a boss would catch up blocking the road behind you. Your tools and weapons are powerless against it. Explosives would destroy it, but chances are your supply is exhausted. You might build a large wall to block it, or dig a hole to make it fall, but time is short, and you also have to build that final bridge across the last gap to safety, before it crushes all your team to death.
Will you make it?
I've stopped counting the days I spent on it. I've abandonned the mockup idea and concentrated on a new direction for the boss. Got huge inspiration in this piece by Ilkke.
The title is a reminiscence of Killdozer. The book, not the band, nor this story which I discovered today.
Used those for refs.
