This is probably one of my favorite pixel art pieces of all times.
It's interesting how the quad with the most colours used has the least amount of visual detail. Was that intentional? Would the piece work better if flipped horizontally?
Never guessed someone else to make this ;)
Nice dither work!
Malor: that pattern is there so the eye would give the time of day to the two color square. It's low contrast and without much detail. Take the pattern out in a pixel program and see how that quadrant is devalued.
I think the pattern in the back of the.. erm 2 color square is a bit distracting, however the focus is still where it needs to be, so I guess it's not a huge issue, it just looks a bit strange. Regardless, it's very pretty.
Nice! Your color choices, as always, are interesting and work well together. I love how you add that subtle, geometric aspect to the piece without compromising the overall form. An area that I'm not real keen on is the ear, specifically in the "3" region. It feels flat. Though I know it's difficult to suggest the shape of the folds of an ear with 3 colors (I abandoned my entry due to frustration with the ear...). Still, it's a really great entry!
My favorite entry so far! I like the shadow thing that some other people have done but there are too many entries like that to make it unique now, imo. I love this- it definitely gets my vote. The colors and composition are all fantastic and it doesnt really feel like there were restrictions either. I have to say though, the nose circle also confuses me,lol.
There's a number of radical decisions in this, going to make for some long and gratifying study. ;)
Unfortunately the vertical transition is not in the middle (by 1px). Hope fixing it won't offset the delicate compostion too much.
very nice! i love the soft, pastell-ish feel
...but i agree about the few turquiose pixels beeing waaay too saturated
Nice choice of colors ;)
Pixels on forehead seem unfitting, and topright seems out of place with no background to challenge top left and bottom left. Bright turquiose does not fit on bottom right, as its too saturated. Instead, I could make it a lighter color of the greenish skin tone, that way you could fittingly use it as part of the shine on the neck. Don't know what the circle on the nose is (what is it?).
Love transitions of the piece along with some of the blockyness of some parts :>
EDIT: My computer has to be seriously messed up. I'm getting 76 colors on this.
was cool to see you in this piece ;)
greetings helm !
