Beautiful. I love the shinyness of, well, shiny stuff. Maybe some leaves and stems could have been darker, to emphasize it. Fairy's skin and hair too.
Color conservation / recycling is a way to unify a piece, doesn't mean all parts have to have similar colors. Most parts of your piece have their own private color palette, with little interaction. You could have reused some of the blues (the less saturated) in hair, flowers, maybe skin and eyes too, without affecting the visible differences, and yet making them more related. Same with other colors.
Also you learn a lot more about how colors and the brain work together, and come up with creative solutions, by working with very limited amounts of colors (like 16, or 8).
I'd encourage you to try palette challenges.
Yeah I guess that's true. I'm still getting used to this "less colors is good", cuz I never knew this before. But if I would use the same blue in the hair, it wouldn't be exactly what I wanted. Cuz I did want the flowers to be more shiny than the hair. So I made the hair in a little bit more dusky/gray light blue.
Theres 150 colors in this piece, and several of the colors are only placed a few places. Theres alot of theese colors that you can repeat Like the blue colors of the flowers, you could have used thoose in the hair also, instead of having multiple blues that is almost similar anyway.
But other than that i love this alot, all the colors are beautiful.
The face could use some AA, but I Love the piece. Favd.
