Thanx for the comment. I'll have a go at the contrast as you suggested. Took me a major amount of time to get proportions right. As for not mentioning who he is, I just rhought it'd be interesting to see whether the sprite is recognisable and also how many people are gamers...

Looks good, maybe you could add some shading to it though. One thing to keep in mind is that grey is not always pure grey; perhaps try adding a bit of hue to those shades of grey. Also, you could try increasing the contrast a bit, things are looking a little washed out at the moment.
And why not actually mention who he is for those not in the know.
Yay, someone knows him! :) I still have to do a back view, then I'll focus on adding more detail to the armor. Thanx for the suggestion. Also, I don't want to add too much as yet as I might want to animate him.
