well, instead of just choosing a darker yellow when shading, go with richer oranges and browns and stuff. Right now there is only one shade of yellow and then greenish gray variants of it, it lessens the appeal because it is not visually stimulating.
yay, the images are supposed to be close to the original designs, i'm kinda glad it turned out so well ^^; i'm surprised i appearantly did so well for a beginner that (some) people actually think it's traced *lol* ^^
fact is, those are the SUN and the MOONs 'main expressions' and animation. you barely will find any other throughout the whole series =) (only the sun, if it is tired in the evenings, or exhausted in the desert) it's really not that confusing.
not sure how to interpret the advice with the colors though. i tried my best with the few knowledge about pixel i had so far.
yeah, both the sun and the moon are strikingly close to the first images that show up on google image search. What does that mean, I do knot know. Knor do I care. I do feel like you could do without the animations though, they are just very strange. I also whish some of the richness and variety of colors used in the original images was carried over to these interpretations. The same goes for the character as well, A lot of what made those characters special was subdued or lost in the translation.
ah! well it's certanly not a trace i assure you o.O nor is the sun.
i just watched carefully how the moon looks in the anime series, and pixeled (pressed pause at a scene, too) - so to say with 2 screens. 'must admit that link you posted does look like that original scene, too though. ^^'
Tracing other people works is not nice, be warned
I think the blood should move with it too
I love Soul Eater, its nice too see these pixel arts of yours :D
wow, now that sounds more like something i can work with! thank you Doppleganger, guess I can see what you mean now =D will try to keep it in mind in the future. btw i like how 'deep' the colors seem in your avatar.
