I like the licking-flame smoky background, and i hope it's related to his powers in some way.
I like the great creativity that went into making such a unique character, and I like the distinctive colours you are using.
If you stay on this same upward ramp of constant improvement, you're going to leave everyone else behind

Thanks, the reason I added the blue background was mostly just for AA the character.. but I decided to play with it instead of making it a boring square
I like, however the blue background is a little choppy looking. You might try making it more gradual, depending on the look your'e going for :D
