Oops missed these two comments. I must admit I rushed the sail a bit just to get this in on time. I also didn't have a clue how to detail it. Wood textures are smething I've done a lot of so I guess that bit was easy.

Also against the majority I don't like major amounts of contrast in my pixel art unless it's to pull a subject away from the background.

Also are you allowed to improve a piece after it's been submitted to a weekly challenge?

The wood looks pretty good, but the sail looks almost flat, and the curve on it kind of seems wrong for the angle you are looking at it.

Looks great for a first attempt, a bit lacking in contrast maybe, but I do like the dead colors.

Also the sail could use more texture which I see you work nicely by the wod plank there (which is awesome).
