And the 1-st in contest is 5-th in month. I don't get it either )
so wait, you win 2nd place in contest but 3rd for the month, and the 3rd placer in contest wins 2nd for the month?
That makes alot of sense.
Very nice piece!
PS: The light of the torches isn't very convincing.
Hahaha, looks like nosefaratu for the snes. Second time I've reffered to the snes. :]
Clever interpretation of the challenge, and nice artwork. Probably the only challenge entry I knew I'd vote for.
I was actually hoping someone would do this xD You've got my vote!
Damn someone else did PoP too O_o
Well yours kicks mine's ass, good wok!
Great, great piece! I actually find the flames OK as the wall sub-pixelling makes up for everything. 8/10
Ah, finally a piece worth using my 9th star for. It's been a few weeks since the promotion and I was worried all that work was going to turn out to be useless!
Kidding aside excellently done, it has really fluid animation but keeps some of the "this action...then that" charm of the old games. Background is a bit monochromatic for my taste but its true to the source I guess.
carnivac - i think the whole point of the game was planning out your moves in advance. its not everyone's style, but I don't think that the games failed in what they set out to do, nor could I really agree that they left gameplay in the corner. i think this is an issue of audience taste, not developer efforts.
why what? why did i hate the games? cos they seemed to be more about showing off at the time impressive animation than having good responsive controls and gameplay. Got sick of having to plan out my moves in advance. Just found it too frustrating and tedious.
Without reading the title, it immediatly reminded me of the very first PoP :D
Gosh that's some brilliant pixel art !
I really dig the bg, but the character design is not that good, although the animation is very smooth.
Well done. It's not often I give such a high rating to a piece. Sure, the flames may be a little wanting, but the overall realism with the really smooth animation really makes this piece stand out to me.
Yes, you can change whatever you want, as long as it is before the challenge ends. So basically you have a day and a half before your sand runs out :P
Good points there skamocore. But I worked on it for two days now and too tired to change anything. )) And also is it alowed to change the entry once it's posted ? Can I go back and make small tweaks and change the entry before clock runs out?
And about different versions. I think I made a mix between original PC version and sega genesis version. That's the ones I played this week )
I just had a look at the original graphics and I have to say this looks a lot better than any version.
My only gripes are the flatness of the flames - you have some colours in the prince's sprite that you could use on the flames. Also the ditheriness of the bricks in the middle, things just look a bit too grainy there, maybe you could add a few extra pixels around there or change the background colour to something lighter than pure black.
Doesn't look constrained by the canvas at all. Very nicely done.
Excellent use of the canavas and awesome graphics. Also I love the game.
HOLY MOLLY! that is amazing! Now I'm gona have a hard time choosing!
Always hated 'playing' the old Prince of Persia games but this is very well done and a creative use of the tetris piece. nice work
This is awesome.
