And yeah, he is a dwarf.

I enjoy the surprising amount of atmosphere you achieve with a clean uncluttered style,

Normally the ideal for pixelart is to put as much pixel-level detail in there as you can, but I enjoy it more, it seems more focused and more personal when the artist focuses on some key details, it gives me the impression I am going deeper in their mind in the way that particular artist views the world...and I love it more if doing all that it also gives me the sense that what I'm seeing is a real space.

Nice. The arm and leg area looks very much unfinished, tho.

Nyno (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 8/7/2010 12:47

This is fabulous. I really liked the series, so it's such a treat seeing the characters in pixel art (the uncomfortable king's throne in the last one was a nice touch as well). I think his face looks far more handsome than the books suggested though =p

Hrunting (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 8/6/2010 08:49

Beautiful work.  I can see what you were trying to accomplish - and this shows it.

Biz (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/5/2010 19:46

My best friend's brother is a dwarf and his feet are smaller in proportion than the feet in the picture - I think the feet are fine and that this piece is fantastic.

Stickman (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 8/5/2010 02:38

Very good work. I like the pose as it's not an easy one to execute.

Gecimen (Level 11 Sphinx) @ 8/4/2010 09:40

It's the feet. They are way too small, for a dwarf, hobbit, a man suffering from dwarfism or whatever.

Satsume (Level 10 Capo) @ 8/4/2010 09:34

great work

Kumiko (Level 1 Thug) @ 8/4/2010 07:24

onek, I will argue that propotions of Tyrion is not so bad.  yrizoud already said he is not the "fantasy" dwarf, but an invalid, sick man. And I've tried to do proportions like proportions of real dwarfs - Peter Dinklage, for example. But if the problem of anatomy still is, maybe after few days I'll see it.

Shrub, it's like at the subconscious level, couse I'm a great fan of Jackson's LotR. =)

Many many thanks for the critique and nice comments!

Skurwy87 (Level 6 Made) @ 8/4/2010 06:51

although it has some downs (not sure about anatomical failures, i suck at that; but the pixel-level execution leaves a bit to be wished for), i really admire this piece. your latest works show a lot of potential, please do more! :)

Shrub (Level 1 Rookie) @ 8/4/2010 06:46

Looks a bit too much like a hobbit for my liking. Especially with the clothing.

A little originality wouldn't hurt.

onek (Level 6 Hitman) @ 8/4/2010 06:28

shading and textures are very nice but i think anatomy is a bit off, even for dwarf.... the arm and his right leg look weird.... the head seems kinda big, probably to get the dwarf look but still... also the pose doesnt seems too comfortable

yrizoud (Level 6 SWAT) @ 8/4/2010 06:23

My first impression was "big head", but by the time I looked up the book title and saw it was about somebody suffering of dwarfism (and not a dwarf a la Tolkien), I get a second look and now the proportions seem all right. The palette, boots, hair and facial expression are very impressive!

Manupix (Level 11 Godfather) @ 8/4/2010 05:28

Just amazing. <3

Shading is excellent, but maybe the light itself might have been a little more mysterious.
