Weekly Challenge: Urban Runners
Cool :) Really like how characters expressions look, even though if eyes and mouths have a cardboard cutout feeling to them :P
Thank you, Manupix. The turban guy is supposed to look shocked by the sudden appearance of a running boy above his head. He doesn't really know what is going on or what to make of this situation. This causes him to drop his cigarette from which he wanted to take a drag. I guess once you recognize the object as a falling cigarette, the hand gesture becomes more clear... Or so I hope ;-)

The main problem for me is the turban guy: neither his expression nor hand gesture are obviously readable.

FlyGuy, I was also pondering over the background issue for a while. But given the point of view, I thought it would diminish the height of the visible houses, if more buildings could be seen in the background. And since there is A LOT of dithering going on (again) I thought a plain background would be the best choice here, so the characters wouldn't get absorbed by it. Then again, I might just try it out sometime and see how it works ;-)
great idea man.. i think the guy with the turban should be a little more angry. maybe waving his fist at the guy who is about to knock all his laundry off the line. there is something empty about the sky and buildings though. maybe some cracks in the walls, or a very faint mountain scape in the background. or even a city scape that is just a few shades darker blue than the sky.
