Very nice for your first gallery peice. You seem like you learn fast. Looking forward to seeing more. Remember, contrast really benefits pixel art. You'll hear that a lot around here.
@Mis-BUG: Thanks for the feedback. The initial sketch was really rough so I did have to do a lot of refinement to it. I'll probably be more careful about that step in the future. I added my references too.

Nice first piece. There are lots of issues with this, but that's a good starting point. One important thing (over pixel art techniques you're going to lear sooner or later) is face anatomy. I've seen the WIP stages and it seems that you have to pay more attention during the sketching phase. The final render will benefit very much from this.
By the way add a link to the reference image (if you have used one). ;)
