The alligator has a really nice charactar about him ._. lovin' the shading on the bear!

These are extremely cute, and the butt-chin on the alligator totally sells him as a character.  The feather shading is also a great example of the beauty of color simplicity.  Good stuff!

@gumol: In my original sketch the owl has really long tail feathers. Obviously, that hasn't translated very well into the canvas I chose for the portraits!

Thanks for the kind words everyone. :D I'm not sure that I'll do more of these (or my original triptych idea). There's something completely different that I started work on a while ago, and I'd like to get a move on with that.
