This was an experimental piece using a pallet of four 8x8 shapes (shown in top left), rotated in variances of 90 degrees. Overall, I really enjoyed it. Reference picture - http://www.illustratedfemale.com/Side_view/female_side.jpg
History:
Was messing around drawing different breast shapes, and I really liked one with a block bottom corner and a concave top corner. I took it to pixel art and made a female silhouette with just sharp corners and concave corners, but that seemed a bit too inconsistent. Thus I brought in a convex corner, completing my pallet. I wanted to show the arms with inverse colors within her body, but the angles turned out pretty bad for a 8x8 block. Turned out nice anyways, possibly better. This was my first time working with a nude, but it hardly counts. I tried to keep the proportions accurate. |
In itself there's not much to this piece- white, black, and two anti-aliasing parts. I'd really like to see what others do with this.
Interesting edit, but one of my main goals was to show the curve of the spine (which I may have failed at). I bailed on the facial features because my pallet was a bit bulky for it. I tried to follow the ref on this legs, which seemed almost as thick as her torso. I love the hair though!
