I believe it should be more along the lines my edit (although I'm no expert):
http://www.ljplus.ru/img4/p/i/pinwizz/EgoLarge-UndineEdit.gif
I also put distinctive mouth because at this resolution and amount of detail on the rest of the picture there is need to it or the place would look empty.
Some parts I made decidedly flat because they are flat in real life.
Two points that both are very important:
1. When doubt, try the pose yourself (but be shure to not hurt yourself trying) and consult the mirror. Proportions would be a bit different, but you'll get idea which shapes are present and what is possible and what is not.
2. Add study of the anatomy of the part which causes problems: knowing bone and muscle structure will help to draw it properly.
Thanks.
You are fully right with both those. I appear to have forgotten to sprite a knee entirely, and I think I was just getting bored with the arms. I've, I believe, fixed the arms, and I've tried to adjust the knees, but I still don't feel satisfied. How's the new version, and does it need more adjustments?
Quite nice and cute.
I think there is something wrong in her left leg's knee area. Also arms are too balloony, especially considering her slim waist.
Alright. No mouth was intentional. I didn't feel confident in my ability to draw a mouth, but she really doesn't NEED one, being an elemental and all.
Skinnier arms(not just less balloony) - Can do.
Knees - I got the placement a little wrong, so thanks.
Thanks for changing her right hand, that piece is actually very helpful.
As for posing, I understand the theory behind that, but the pose she's in wouldn't strictly be possible above water to sustain without hurting myself, but it should be fine underwater.
So uh, yeah, thanks alot. That edit is very helpful, and I'll get right on that.
