@DawnBringer: just keep on pickin' the nits, I'm glad you do! I'll have a look at it (and the whole palette actually) with a better display once I get that other computer up and running. I'm currently on a very old thinkpad x23 and the display is really really poor so I have absolutely no doubt that the palette might be / is more or less off. Thanks for a reminder!

Just one little nit-pick...color #4 [136,116,77] is a bit too dark for a balanced range, I would change it to something like [132,122,85]...but that's just me. ;)

Excellent piece. It's flawless with the lower veins improved. Is there an award like best improving artist of the month?

I think the curls at the ends of the... strings(?)... could be improved - if you allowed them have a "larger movement", basically start curling earlier instead of just at the far ends, it would add more energy to the picture.
Apart from that nice piece and great palette!
