there are like three different perspectives on the green hat, and i can't tell what's going on in the foreground. foreshortening on the pointing hand/arm could be a tad more extreme. seconding the aa-burn crit, it seems to come up in many of your pieces. very well-rendered, as always.
I really like the image overaly. The colors, the stylisation style and shading. I'll try that one day.
I dont like though, when you are putting some kind of weird shadow around 'light spots'. Seem on ?table? in front and on a wall. That looks completely wrong when Im looking at the image (cause it is wrong shading-wise).
Also the big boring flat surface of ?table? takes most of the image, while the interesting detailed areas (characters, ..) are pushed \ crammed somewhere behind it.
Very smooth pixeling. You have the technique down, although the ragged edges on everything annoy me a little. :)
The red doesn't work as an AA shade against the gray, it burns through the image.
Imagine the characters as silhouettes. Would you be able to identify their features? Would you be able to identify them as people? It seems like all the identifying detail is crowded within their blobby shapes. Utilizing the positive space could make the pointing gesture much more powerful. By positioning it near the edge of the table, the close but non-intersecting shapes would create a lot of tension.
As a book cover, if you want the author's name along the bottom you could reinforce the Z-shaped composition pretty easily (the angle could be slightly higher so the you can raise the character holding the pot). The threads and the paper could be arched upwards along this path to enhance the piece's rhythm.
Remember, "good" is the enemy of "great!" With a little more attention to artistic principles, you could really push this to the next level.
mto massa , de vez em quando eu assistia sitio do pica-pal amarelo
Reminds me old Amiga games. It also should be good as c64 tape cover ;)
Muito bom cara.
Adorava Sítio do Picapau Amarelo.
. - ~ Very good Jiin, oh yeah =D ~ Adorei mesmo Jinn. =D ~ - .
