what most strikes me in this pixel-art, is the colors, and of course the stones! very cool
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW
I think I've already told you this once or twice... BUT I EFFING LOVE THIS PIECE. You have my everlasting respect
This is a nice, very formal, composition. It would work as a poster.
I agree, reminds me from Borderlands`s pandora, but only with foliage! Awesome work, love the palette. The mountains could be fixed as cure ceddo said. But anyway congrats on the 1st place!
Absolutely love the colour palette and the feel of this painting. Nicely done.
I agree with ceddo, and also feels the largest chunk of foliage feels a bit too solid. beautiful work, though
Wow. Everything about this is great! One thing broke the illusion of depth for me though: the way the bottom of the mountains goes in towards the sand area too much in my opinion. Awesome piece!
Thanks! Yeah, I'm always trying to push myself harder and get better. This one was a major pain in the ass, but it was worth it. (By the way, I do intend to completely revamp the latest mockup I submitted, but I've gotta get some commissions done first. I said I was gonna and then didn't, but I haven't forgotten about it!)
I should mention that this is a brilliant piece by you, Peri. You're progressing all the time!
Yeah, you have a good point. They fit better when it was going to be a game mockup. I should probably redo them, but man, I'm too burned out on this piece to work on it more. Will keep that in mind for next time, though. Thanks for the compliment!
This is incredible! The tree and the rocks definitely make me think of Fool. The whole background is, like Stickman said, stunning.
Brilliant! The only thing I would comments on is that it would be nice to have some gaps between the leaves.
The background planet is stunning.
not bad :) its cool!
the clouds are a little too fixed and uhm...not airy xD
The colors. They're just so... beautiful...
Faved!
I used MS Paint's circle tool. Then for some lighter layers inside, I made a narrower oval to create a crescent and filled it in. Then I took it into GraphicsGale and scribbled all over it. For the glow, I just duplicated the layer, erased most of the inner texture, put it under the original, did a palette swap, and moved it a bit.
Incidentally, the ground texture was done almost entirely with the filled oval tool. It was actually really easy once I figured out the trick!
OMG you guys are good ~__~
How in heavens did you make that giant curve so perfect?
Good point, it was pretty limited. Is this better?
This is SO awesome in some many ways! It's like a sci-fi locus amenus!
I can see Fool's and bb's styles, nice likeness.
This piece is superb, man. I love everything except the sand (?) color.
Everything's fine but I love the faded out mountains in the back.
This is beautiful. I'm not sure the preview fully does it justice, since the tree is drawn in a slightly harsher, more contrasted style than the rest of the piece.
Gorgeous piece, great colors and a very interesting layout for the design.
Yeah the leaves have the most definition of anything in the piece. Nice Work
I appreciate the feedback, but I'm pretty burned out on this piece, so I think I'm going to leave it as it is. I'll definitely keep that in mind in the future, though.
it seems the rocks are out of perspective. And the leaves seem not to fit in. Perhaps look better without them and have a dead tree? And this is a horizont view sorta so the clouds are wrong they should flow with in the other direction, sorry I can't explain so good. But it is a beautiful piece.
Yeah, you got it. My usual MO when I have no idea how to do something and ref pics don't help is to ape a better artist. And thanks! This is definitely the best thing I've made to date, so I'm pretty pleased with myself.
Just wow! The quality here is very unexpected.
Lemme guess - rocks - Fool. Backgroung - Big B.
Giving this full marks, which I rarely do.
This is great, I really like this piece :)
