A Tripod from War of the Worlds, shortly after rising out of the ground after its million-year slumber, ready to exterminate the human race.
Great! Just great!
The lighting effects work really well here.
wow! very nice!
Watch the 2005 Steven Spielberg remake. The movie is different from the book.
Correction: the tripods in War of the Worlds came out of cylinders shot from mars.
That aside, very nice pixel work.
One of the worst book-to-movie adaptations in recent years, and that's saying something : x
This piece is pretty cool though.
Awesome improvement in your level, I really want to see your next piece.
i love it, its awesome.. reminds me of that alien monster from War of the Worlds film

Oops, thank you.
The preview file is missing. Please re-upload.
Thanks, I'll take those edits into consideration.
Nice job. You could work more on your colors though, to get something more contrasted.
Here's a quick edit based on on the step you posted on the forum (which was definitly better imo) :
suddenly i feel the need of watching the movie again. you know, for the sake of
THAT LOOKS AWSOME!!!
Really well done. I love how the civilians have their cellphones out taking pictures of the thing. :P
I looked at a few models of the tripod itself to get an idea of the tripod's anatomy, but otherwise no.
Any reference used?
I love it's simplicity in techinque and content. Very nice. The cell phone photographers are a funny touch, too. :D
This is based off the recent movie. The actual aliens ride down into the ground via a capsule, there they activate the pre-buried tripods.
tiny, non-art point : the tripods in the book are aliens and activate soon after striking the earth, no million years of being buried?
Thank you! Yeah, haha, that's a bit of a plot hole I think. Never noticed.
This one is sweet! I'll probably vote for you hehe.
Awesome piece indeed.
I never understood that part with the cameras still being on in the movie. Everything else in that part was shut down electrically (watches, cars, etc). Weird.
Looks fenominal, so takes me back to the movie. Great job...
This gets my vote, too. And not just because I dig tripods in general :)
looks soooo good :-D
This is really cool. I love the mood and the tripod, and yeah, the people with the cell phones is a great touch. Not sure the noise on the building on the right really works, though, and the people are banded in some places, but nice job otherwise!
Great scene you Got My vote :D
love the people with their cell phone cameras out.
