Everything loses its colors in the Garden of Gray.

First piece mostly drawn with a tablet. Don't know how to draw with a mouse anymore ): Various jungle references used.

Inspiration song

baah (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 7/24/2011 09:16

Wonderfull picture, although i just can't tell if flowers are growing on a rock or a dead tree.

Also your avatar is fantastic and funny!

Squirrelsquid (Level 4 Rubbish) @ 6/28/2011 21:53

I like it a lot - but in some spots the shading seems to be abit smudgy - most noticable at the edges of the stones, where they connect with the grey of the garden. I think some more harsh contrasts there (only the real edge of them= would give it more clarity.

but that is a minor nitpick - it's beautiful as is :3

been looking at the public queu for the past five minutes, saw this on the main page and was looking rather desperately for the "yes" button :V

Ixayou (Level 2 Corporal) @ 6/28/2011 16:21

Scarodactyl (Level 8 Ruby) @ 6/27/2011 23:07

Very nice piece!  I am reminded of Titan's Goblet:, which is one of my favorites.

Retronator (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 6/27/2011 17:01

Totally understand how you can't draw with the mouse anymore.  Lovely piece, love the greens and the smoothness of it.

Delicious (Level 10 Capo) @ 6/26/2011 12:48

You got so dang good lately. Excellent job.

Geoglatico (Level 6 SWAT) @ 6/26/2011 10:07

That this incredible work, I really like the colors you used.

iLKke (Level 9 Nidan) @ 6/25/2011 12:06

Lovely. The bark texture looks more like a stone, but it's forgivable :)

Gizmonicgamer (Level 4 Deputy) @ 6/25/2011 08:33

I was wondering if there was a connection to the song when I saw the title. In any case, an absolutely fantastic piece. I love the fade into the horizon, and the way the gray contrasts with the foliage around it.  i remember being inspired by the title quite a while back to try and do something like this, but I never got around to it. I'm glad you did.

a3um (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 6/25/2011 07:23

 Thank you, guys!

@jalonso - actually, that IS a 5th vine (: I hope it reads better now. Thanks

jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) @ 6/25/2011 07:12

A wonderful piece. You rock.

My only nitpick is the four vines on the tree trunk. Items in even numbers in nature always read unnatural to me. I see the 5th in the rear of the tree but it looks more like an error in pixelling than a vine. Perhaps adding the 5th vine lower on the trunk's front in the shade?

elend (Level 3 Corporate Drone) @ 6/25/2011 06:41

Oh my, I love this one. Very awesome colors and great style.

fawful (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 6/25/2011 05:39

Very sharp and vibrant piece.

Smilecythe (Level 6 Yonkyu) @ 6/25/2011 03:54

Its bit hard to tell what it is but I like the technique and colors anyways

Advarsky (Level 2 Peon) @ 6/25/2011 02:58

 Nice! :D

TheoVision (Level 8 Regional Boss) @ 6/25/2011 02:46

Hey, this is fantastic.

a3um (Level 4 Shichikyu) @ 6/25/2011 01:16

@skamocore - thanks for your point. I made some minor tweaks with a furthermost hills

SatTheArtist (Level 1 Rookie) @ 6/25/2011 00:59

Oh my freakin god, I love you.

skamocore (Level 11 Dolphin) @ 6/25/2011 00:57

I think if you're going to use dithering in the background, then you should consider using more of it; right now it feels a bit ineffectual and messy.

Also, I would try more contrast between 3d3d3d and 1d3e29.

Overall though, this is <3
