Thanks Jeremy for the comments. Changed the amount of colors (I've used the same color palette of 85 colors for both pieces, but apparently I didn't use them all 
)
Furthermore: these are my very first attempts in iso pixel art and I must say I'm still learning. I like the iso style a lot, but it definitly needs some more finetuning. I think I'll add more shadows in future pieces (e.g. it would have added more depth in sections like the front porch/arches) and I see your point when it come to the overall contrast.
I'm only getting 76 colours in this, 81 in the other. Nice iso, but it seems a bit midtone-y or washed out in general.
