Keep'em comming :D I'm starting to see the mistakes in the image, it's just very obvious now ;)
The head on the cauldron is just so damn cool. But it does strike me a bit odd that the rim of the cauldron doesn't have a brighter edge, since there is light coming from above.
In response to Flarfy: I personally like the stylised background, but I agree that the pose is weird. Hard to see what he's doing.
Two things:
1.) The piece is very nice, but it probably could have been done with 30 or less colors, easily.
2.) It looks like the text says "Soul Save".
Overall, good job. Just try to fix those two things.
Im digging it. Although the Heading is bugging my eyes by its style. It seems the main light source is coming from the cauldron itself just from looking at the trees shading and the cauldron. I think the little guy would bring the piece out more if he had this shading too, possibly darker at the head and brighter towards the cauldron.
Your piece is very well pixeled with a great pallette. I do however have a few comments:
Personally I'm not too keen on the stylized "ground" and background. I find it to be distracting from your othervice beautiful trees and bushes. Looks like he's on a stage with props.
His pose with the hand is a little weird. Hard to read what he is doing. Looks like he is either stroking the tree in the back, or like he just don't give a f***!
Finally I think you should rework the letters in the top so they aren't so dithered. They get a rough texture and I think you'd want them to be more smooth and shiny.
Hey all! I'm looking for as much comments as possible to make this piece and myself better at pixel art. Any piece of knowledge is welcomed! Thanks!
Good job.
As this is a loading image and not an ingame mockup where functionality is also requred, I would add some interaction between the layers. Not much, some cast shadows on th bushes and the trees maybe.
