More old stuff... These were some early (and simple) ideas for a platform game I was working on in 2007 or 08 or so. Top row shows the player character in several (only slightly different) variations. The one with the cap was the one that I eventually used later on. The bottom row were potential enemies, though I never got to the point where the game was actually having enemies when I scrapped it.
 

The rat in one of the minigun soldiers' head is an insider from the (no longer existing) forum I was pretty active back then. Don't try to find any sense in this :D

Uh yeah, you're absolutely right about the shadow. Too dark, should have gone with a lighter color. My personal favorite here is the voodoo-scientist-dude :D Too bad I never really used (and animated) these in an actual game...

 i really like the monkey soldiers (especially this one with mouse ;)

but shadow imho is too strong making overall effect worse a little
