I didn't comment on the character or its style at all. It is good and fine. I just meant the presentation of the piece as 'a piece'. The preview has more style than the piece itself...just nitpicking, k.
I tried to make something new to make more antropomorphic characters that could be animated easily. For the BG, it was more because i needed something to put behind it to work on it and don't get it all cloggy, but i'll change it.
I admire your sense of style in many ways. I especially admire your presentation and well designed layouts and canvases. You often use empty BGs that seem like concious design choices and tend to work. In this piece you failed and the BG does nothing at all to help the piece. Even the shade seems poor :/
