I like landscapes.
The composition isn't optimal, I guess there is too much detail on the left making the right side look a bit empty.
So epic :O
Absolutely wonderful piece of art Some parts looks like lucas art inspired
Great sky, great everything basically.
This reminds me of day of the tentacle :D
Wow, beautiful scenery! I love the shapes of the rocks and trees.
This is easily the most beautiful pixel scenery I've ever seen. Amazing job, man!
Dude, that's amazing in all aspects.
Awesome. Love the canvas.
Quite a killer!
its vereh lovely sir vierbit. The colors really draw me in. looks like the poor lad and lass have a long walk home though, haha.
Well deserved for 1st place :)
wow wow wow. such a nice work, amazing colors.
Man, this is just incredible! I'm amazed on how you worked the trees and stones.
Still there's two little things: the girl's anatomy looks weird, the dress she is wearing dont make it much clear, but there's a difference btween his arms and legs. arms should be a bit shorter (and thiner) or legs a bit larger (unless the rock she is standing in had a slope to the opposite side of the viewer, but since this side is horizontal it doesn't look so). Also the woods feathers in what seems to be day's fog. I dont really think it's working for a sunset unless it's some sort of enchanted woods that has his own luminance.
..Or probably i''m just envious, you are a great pixel artist and the entire work is stuning, hahaha.
Congrats in your totally deserved winning.
I love the way the colours interact with each other.
OMG, it made me dream for a moment :)
I would pay for a poster of this.
i like the colors :D, idont know about the girl, looks a bit strange compared to the guy, but still good :D
This is beyond words of compare. Amazing.
Lovely as always, and even though the people are the focal point I feel as though your preview should have been focused on the great rock/foilage detail. Honestly, I couldn't even tell it was yours from the preview, but instantly knew it once I saw the cliffing.
Perfect. Simply perfect.
this is the best piece of pixel art i have ever seen.
I'm in love with the rocks most out of the whole scene but this is one epic piece, and the contrast between the characters and the right of it balance it nicely. In a game or animation you could see this being panned across nicely. The curve of the rock to where the people are helps guide the eye there too imo, <3 this
Fav it, fantástico, grats
Impressive! I love the ambiance in the forest!
yo dude, you're a human?
Beautiful work! I think the bright colors on the right helps balance out the details on the left :)
OMG, i totally love this piece! Wonderful palette!
Upon further reflection, I repeat "geez louise!" This is so good, vierbit.
Make an Adventure Game!
This is beautiful; I am in awe! The colours and detail are perfect and I cannot see a pixel out of place.
You are sure to win 1st.
Hah, nice one Mathias
(I have 1,001 words to say)
Ooh this is great! I'm especially loving the way you did the trees. Very nice job with the shadows.
This one is definitely going to make a Top Pixel Art this month!
Dayum. I thought I had the slightest chance at this one; how overly optimistic of a thought. This is gorgeous work... So vivid. I too really like the rocks.
Nice style, almost taken from The Dig.
This is awesome- the colors, the depth. I really like the rocks, no matter how unrealistic they are.
The only thing I think could use work is the way the girl's hair and dress flow.
The way her hair splits at the end makes it look ragged; I would make most the hair flow into one piece, or have the parts of her hair divide earlier near her head.
As for her dress, the bottom of the skirt is a flat, horizontal line making it look very stiff. The wind would make it blow behind her and layer the cloth. The hemline should vary in levels.
You're a shoo-in, either way!
love the color and the trail as it furthers into the woods. realy really nice job here, could stare it at it a long time lol
Great pic and those colours are brilliant!
Very beautiful, amazing.
Unfortunately there aren't any wip files. Tried it a few times to create one of these progress GIFs, but it's just bothersome to managing that. The only thing that I have is a sketch for getting a rough idea what i was doing. And yes I flipped that image afterwards, looked better to me.
But frankly, i don't think I use any special technique ;).
Wow, excellent work! I LOVE landscapes too! You really got lighting down...great leaves, trees, everything. Fave'd.
Also, out of curiousity and for learning purposes, do you have a WIP of this? I'd love to see it. :)
