Hey thanks mate, they aren't anywhere near as cool as your colours (I still think yours was the best carni) but thanks a heap. ^_^
Yeah I wasn't motivated. I forced myself to finish this. Yeah my whole $12,000 in debt has basically put a lot of strain on my life ai.
Thanks mate. Yeah she is an absolute idiot. I don't know why everyone hated on Rudd. =(
Well, I think you said something about not being motivated in the wip topic...
You're right. I wanted to say that his clothes look cool and casual.
The animation is "wide" which makes it even more outstanding! The colors choice is original. Everything work well together on this piece, you've done a great job <3
lol i didn't know you were aussie, stupid julia :|
Voted for this piece first this week, along with one other. This animation is amazing, the pose is amazing, the shapes are amazing, i don't even care that the palette is terrible =D
I'm assuming this is some kind of reference to a TV show or movie or something. My intrigue meter has now reached 6 (honestly if it ever gets past 2 it's a pretty big deal)
In the words of our annoying Prime Minister "Please explain?"
Googled it. No but I took a video of myself and used it as reference to do the line art and because I had the spot light on my camera I then proceeded to stand infront of the mirror to get a basic idea of the shading trying to get my pose as close as possible to that of the lineart.
Still cool new word. Rotoscoped. Sounds like a robots eye zooming in on a target.
I just googled the rick roll video. I actually see the similarities.
Ha ha, I wouldn't really call it laid back with how much I move.
Nawww thanks, I highly doubt it's worthy of first because there are some damn sey entries but thanks. =)
Maybe I might actually score 3rd though. fingers crossed!
Now that's a boy that's done took all the names he can take.
Seems like you got your motivation back =] nice animation.
Woah! I just realized what this reminds me of! That rick-roll video, where rick does that one dancing move :0
I must admit I placed my vote before I even saw this(somehow...?). What a mistake... this piece deserves first. Good luck to you and excellent job.
The skin tones I actually took directly from my friendly's dice piece except I removed the brightest colour and for some reason failed to realise that by doing so the skin pallet was now pure pink. Didn't pick up on it until I was watching the finished animation and I randomly noticed. ^_^
I actually stitched myself making that first frame as I was planing on blocking out the shading on all frames first but because I did the first frame I felt the compulsion to do the rest as such. Moral of the story; don't fall backk into old habits. =D
Thanks OJ (sorry I couldn't help myself) I honestly wasn't expecting anyone to be waiting for me to finish this so it's cool to know. I'll definitly have to finalise after the challenge me thinks.
@Proto - This is actually my usual fighting style, it's an eratic stance that uses the "swings" or sways as momentum behind your attacks. The style focuses primarily in low strikes and upper cuts. I probably exagerated it a bit though as it's hard putting it into pixel form =D
I do certainly agree that if I'd lessened the swing I would have made things easier for myself... Unfortunately I have a habit of making things hard for myself =/
I do have a habit of picking dark colours, may be to my sensitivity to light I'm unsure. I'll try and keep that in mind for future. ;)
Thanks Serg. I'm glad I got it to at least this state to be able to enter it. =)
i peeked at this piece on the WIP forum thread, and i was really excited when i saw your animation. You had made just one frame that was rendered that you were going to submit, but i wanted to chime in to say that even without the shading, you should hands down submit the animation. definitely the most authentic animated entry, and while it could use another pass for some refinement i think its a solid piece. one thing i wasnt really sure about is the palette. not sure why you chose those skin tones, but thats an easy adjustment if you wanted to make it.
I love it. It doesn't exactly feel smooth, but at the same time it reminds me of those pre-rendered Genesis fighting games and that is just wonderful.
Also the folds on those pants are so damn sexy.
It's fine work and all that, looks a bit too dark for my taste, but the animation itself bugs me. Why would you swing back and forth in a combat situation? It's just a waste of energy and looks quite silly, especially with that much motion. Lessening the amount of swinging would make animating easier too.
great to see you finished this on time! really impressive result :)
Thanks mate. The lighting is a bit wrong in places but I probably put the most work into the pants. The jacket also has a bit of the same lighting play but with the shades its a bit more subtle. Thanks if you see any major flaws in this I'll fix them after the challenge; can't really call it finalised in it's current state.
You have done excellent work, very much like the game of light on the pants and the beautiful moving laces!
What needs smoothing out? If it's the left (our right) pant leg it's partially because I rushed the shreak out of that to finish on time. Frame 3+4 (aka 2) needs the light of the right leg to move over slightly. Again didn't have time to repair my mistakes even though I could have had a whole extra hour.
The pants in general need some work!
Thanks and yeah I wanted to tweak the palle at the end but for some stupid reason I find myself at Uni an hour early meaning I could have fixed this up in that hour but I'm a retard who can't read a clock when under pressure. T_T
I love the animation, though it could use a few inbetween frames to smooth it out.
Errr I mean that the movement has a large amplitude and so the smoothness of the animation must have been even more difficult to achieve. I'm sorry that my English is sometimes not accurate ^^'
