Come and read .. King in Yellow.
Yes, I just love bizarre things, literature including.
EDIT: Thanks to useful feedback I have modified the picture a bit and deleted the horribly drawn folded corner.
Omg! How did that get there? Still, it wouldn't bother you, if you had light background like everyone else. ;-) Thanks for telling me, I will remove it.
Hey! Remove one bright pixel below!)
Oh, I forgot about these different background color! Yes I have a gray background, and I did a lot of my work is given the dark background, not knowing that on a light background, they can look terrible! By the way, I made the darker the whole picture that I uploaded in the last message, he became more and more harsh, but on my monitor has become more visible part of the paper!
You probably have theme with dark background, haven't you? I thought all themes have light BG. Well .. I have to do AA on the dark shadow, but I can't do it so it passes all themes. (It is functioning well with my scheme) Still, there has to be some AA, or the line will be even more jagged, I probably shouldn't remove it whole. What now? Any AA will look bad with dark BG, and now when i look at you scan, whole picture looks bad with dark BG. Pretty bad, maybe in future I will try to draw pictures to pass with all BG.
I'm talking about the color #827e6b, he is too light next to the black. I slightly increased the contrast (of course increased the number of colors, but it seems to be better)
ECPixel: Where are those yellow pixels? I have searched black shadow and I didn't find any yellow ones, maybe if you were a bit more specific?
Hey, good work! I would note a couple of things. Hard to read folds, I saw them accidentally lowered my head on the monitor. For me a sheet of paper looks almost white (maybe the problem is with the monitor) but I would add the contrast between the pieces of paper. And something else, AA between the black shadow and background does not work, grey color is normal, but the yellow only spoils, don't be miserly in color, change the appropriate color! But in General, I like this , blinking very unexpected and pleasant!
Hey, maybe upload that real drawing as a reference pic? I know I'D like to see it, I could probably learn something about doing these folds from it.
And I totally understand leaving the corner. Just wanted to point it out in case you didn't realize that it was a bit strange. As long as you know pixel-wise for next time, that's fine. Cheers!
Thanks. I actually have taken a real paper, folded it, put it besides lamp and draw the scene on the paper (the real drawing looks somewhat better that this one, black pen is very good for such things) I used the pen drawing as reference for paper in submitted picture. I have odd feeling about folded corner too, but I will probably leave it as it is - it looks so good in real drawing, can't force myself to put it away.
Hey man, you're selling yourself short on the colors, it's only 13+trans from my count!
I really like it though, it's stylish, simple, and precise. The folded/creased paper look is very neat, something I've tried to do and always failed at (though perhaps it could have a bit more contrast to it, I had to squint to make some of it out). The only real issue I'd bring up is that the folded up bit on the bottom right and its shadow look much less refined than the rest - I think it'd work even better if you just had it lay flat. The way the rest of the shadows are falling also doesn't line up with the folded up bit's shadow perspective. Also, as a thought, maybe try making some of the figure's black outlines a bit more faded, it might be too harsh in places.
Also, the blink is an excellent little touch. Nice job!
