Excelent execution! Theme is also something i have to try some time. Actually I even have a pic like this in mind but I'll want to do it with Commodore +4 colors palette.

Feels too dark for Fool, he doesn't use much saturation but the colors are usually way more comic like (and the characters too, this is too serious ;) )
Some je ne sais quoi doesn't quite feel like fool's work, in this, but I almost sorta prefer the difference. Lots of genuinely innovative solutions to stuff, here. (Plus, I won't lie, I'm gay for some good foliage any day of the week. :P )

umm yes. these are absolutely not fool-like colors at all, but i completely dont care, because the values, themes and shapes are spot on. i think this is my favorite piece so far. color me inspired to want to enter this challenge, but i doubt i have proper time to make an entry worthy of competition.

To clarify my comment, fool doesn't tend to use saturated colors as his shadow tones. Another thing is that with his colors it is very obvious what they are meant to be. Your grass in this case needs to be much greener for it to get closer to fools style.
Colors aren't similar to fool because he havent done trees this color! I am sure if he did it would look too similar ;)
Palette doesn't feel similar to fools at all, but the textures and shapes definitely do. Awesome work!
Absoloutely fucking beautiful. literally what went through my mind when I saw the preview, well done. Really great.
The palette is off, but otherwise you've done an admirable job of imitating his style.
Quite a good try, but I think the contrast is too high on the character, especially the darker shades. You may notice that Fool's characters are vey readable on their background, so you could also change the background so that the character detaches himself from it.
The eyes could do with a sparkle, it's something I noticed Fool does. I think the path could do with more highlights, too.
