I really like the design of these. I'd love to see them used in a game. :)
I would be really scared of putting texture on metal, yet it is the only way to make it look good...
You did this in a really great way, and I like the variations! (such as the machete being black)
I love the shading too.. that machete is wicked looking, the darkness on it and the dithering adds a great texture.

Two things though:
The handles of the polearms and the pickaxe look really flat.
Specularity? It makes sense for the tools to be matt, but the blades and the polearms could use some stronger highlights.
Weapons... That actually look like weapons? No oversized giant demon sword of doom? No glass shields?
