I was planning to do that thing with the broken swingset :I

This was going to be a much longer animation, showing a little bit of the kid's life in relation with the tree and with cool transitions, but the deadline of the contest got in the way :s

Sweet - I like the style, as well as how large the tree is. The alive tree has foliage on it, but it's not very obvious on the yellow background - maybe that background could be darkened? Or just hold the live tree state a little longer to help see everything.

It would also have been a bit creepy if the dead tree had the branch holding the swingset broken, but maybe that would've been too sad and "Limbo-esque". Anyway, nice job!
