The first you used the palette on the leaves pretty badly :p The second is better, but I think you could havejust used the two shades of green, and the bright shade of yellow to best pull off the leaves. I'll give an example of what I'd do:

Now as for the bark, it feels as though you went over board with the neutralizers (the greys/blues). Those are colors that when put with other colors appear to be a different hue, if that makes sense. You paired blue with orange, which are complimentary, but in this case they contrast because of the background color. And the grey just looks grey. Those greys should be used very very subtly. Notice how i only used my grey in the creases of the leaves. The grey also goes well with the bg color, and makes it appear bluer then it actually is. So you have to be careful with your color useage :3
How 'bout something like this?
Just want to say that green and orange is clashing really hard.
Wow. Lots of feedback! :O Thanks!
I've always had a hard time working with colours, so comments like yours are greatly appreciated. :3
The thing with the greens, though, is that there's such a huge difference in hue and brightness between them that I feel as if it's necessary to add something in between. Yeah, the orange was a terrible idea. Green and orange shouldn't go together that way. But I needed/wanted something in between and I though I'd try using a yellow-ish colour to do that.
The bark... Yeah. That;s kinda where I got the "rainbow" title.
Again, thank you sooooo much. :D
