Another mockup for the Eye of Darkness series.

Hopefully elegant  and terrifying enough for this week challenge.

* redrawn the previously recycled parts, ops

Loved the dark mood.

AlanDrake (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 11/19/2012 09:48

I guess my monitor is too bright. Or my room too dark.

Nice, but hellllla dark!  I had to fullscreen just to make out the details.  There might be ways to do darkness that don't require limiting the palette

Decroded (Level 2 Kukyu) @ 9/21/2012 05:32

this is really fantastic work mate i really love this style

Neela (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 9/13/2012 12:41

Looks awesome!

Ashkin (Level 8 Rear Admiral) @ 9/11/2012 03:51

Excellent lighting work here.

Jetrel (Level 1 Intern) @ 9/9/2012 02:19

Some brilliant use of lighting in a piece that looks restricted to something reasonably practical to use in the average platformer.

RileyFiery (Level 9 Federal Agent) @ 9/3/2012 20:15

It looks good and I think it should be allowed in the challenge even if you had the concept, or rather game thought out ahead of time. It doesn't mean you had the piece already done. It's certainly a favorite of mine in this weekly challenge.

AlanDrake (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 9/2/2012 22:45

The head and hearts were redone from scratch. If you didn't notice that means I did a good job :D

Buddy90 (Level 6 Manager) @ 9/2/2012 19:20

I still don't think this should be in the challenge, either. You have this game already thought out well before the challenge, and it almost seemed like a coincedence that it fit. I think the "planning" stage should also be completely new.

But I'm not a moderator. This is just my opinion. It's a very nice piece, but I think you had an advantage by having an idea already worked out before. Also, the head and hearts were in the last mockup too ;)

AlanDrake (Level 3 Private Eye) @ 9/2/2012 11:25

Apologies, I was rushing things as usual and forgot about the rule! Fixed.

Here's the old version:

Voldimars (Level 6 SWAT) @ 9/2/2012 10:00

nice and crazy

EdJr (Level 9 Nidan) @ 9/2/2012 09:47

It's certainly going to win if you fix what jal told you to!

Theoden (Level 8 Marshal) @ 9/2/2012 08:23

Amazing colors, mood, lights. Instant fav.

jalonso (Level 11 Godfather) @ 9/2/2012 06:06

This is a wonderful looking mockup but can't be added to the challenge :(

PJ weekly challenges must be created during the challenge week and consist of 100% new pixelart. This is where the challenge comes in and help develop speed and accuracy in your pixelart in general. I can't really tell which tiles are new here and what is already created. For sure the knight sprite already existed so this cannot be entered for the challenge which is a shame because this is a winning mockup.

If you dispute or correct this submission and want it back in the challenge make sure you PM any Mod before the challenge clock ends.

mitchell547 (Level 4 Deputy) @ 9/2/2012 05:27
