After I established a palette I played around with it a bit more freely. The mimics and the shaman rely on it a little, but I plan on doing it more in the future now that I have my colors all picked out.
You could try some other colors while shadowing rather than just the same color darker and lighter. Beyond that this is awesome.
Thanks Greyskill! I intended for the big whippy guy to be the anchor for this piece but the knight turned out much better than I thought it would. The shaman was the last little villager guy I made, and I think he utilizes the size limitations the most out of them.
