I never said the general idea of the eye being there was a bad idea, just it was poorly pixeled. For instance, look in a mirror or google eyes. The shape is too diamondy, the iris is a tad too big, the details in the iris are way too dramatic, pupil is mishapen (and too small), and stuff like that.
As for the clashing colors it would be the deep red and the deep green. On the like-like (squid monster thing?)the interior of the mouth hue shifts from red to green. Seeing that the two are complementary colors, I am pretty sure a hue shift like that would be much too powerful. Again, on the eye, green is found in the veins of the red sclera. Since red and green are complements the colors clash.
And question: why do you number all your works? :O:O
Thx for the feedback guys, appreciate it
@GetYourGoat:
Every suggestion gets the same attention from me and well I consider myself an eternal newb, which I don't think is a bad thing, anyway regarding your suggestion together with what cozier said made me realize that the eye is already taking away to much focus, raising the contrast would enhance that, so I decided to tone down the contrast instead.
@crozier: Hmm I thought that creepy gaze would work well, guess It doesn't. As for the colors clashing I lowered the contrast of the eye, about it being sloppy/unrealistic could you plz be more specifc here?
Also fixed up some other minor things.
I think the preview is what is bringing this piece down. Slendy is looking pretty spiffy (along with the odd looking like-like thing under him ;p), but the eye is... uhh... Quite the opposite of spiffy. Its unrealilistic, sloppy, and the colors clash too much.
It's still decent. The orange shadows on the face/neck are nice.
That's pretty cool! Personally I'd make the eye in the background a bit brighter/contrasty so it stands out a little more, but I'm just a newb, so don't pay too much attention to my suggestions
I never said that you said the genreal idea is bad, jk aside I fixed up the shape, which was partly a result of working with tall pixels for the first time and not investing enough time, as for the iris if realism is ur measure it is rather too small than too big, its true that red and green contrast well thats why I lowered the contrast in the eye, its just that I can only upload the update after the challenge is over, as for the mouth contrast there helps set the "squid monster thing" apart from the bg and since the colors aren't highly saturated it shouldn't be much of a problem.
As for the numbers Its just so that I don't have to come up with titles which can take up waay too much time. A little bonus of not actually having a title is that the viewer has one thing less to influence their impression/opinion on the work.
