I love the contrast in this pic. The soft, pastel-like blue and green tones stand out so nicely against the gritty dark shadows.

This background is too good for the actual player and npc sprites.

Great! Your BGs are very detailed. When I see them sometimes i feal like playing Donkey Kong Country saga (one of my favs games).
Love the texture on the ground mimicked into the background.
Kind of looks like a pine forest. I would expect thinner trunks and lot more of them. The ground cover is amazing.

The brown of the bamboo feels rather odd given that live bamboo is usually green.
I really like the foggy depth and the rear layers.
I think that the strong chiaroscuro of the foreground trees don't fits in the overall atmosphere and the foreground scrubs are feeling razor-sharp.
But all in all it looks really good and I bet it took a lot of time.
What amazes me with your backgrounds is that when you zoom in the shapes look so simple, yet the global result is awesome. And this one is no exception to the rule :)
