I like the animation too! To get this accepted into the gallery I suggest you follow antibotons first tip. If you want this to look nicer as well, why not give it a little shading?
The animation looks very good. I have 2 suggestions:
1. Use a transparent background and cut the empty area. (fit the sprite to the canvas size)
2. Use a litlle of aliasing between the blue and red colors, and some for the black border.
Smooth animation. Good job!
