So after we put our last projest to sleep by the end of last year, we stumbled a little bit. But we are back on track with new (and simplier ^_^) project.

Here is first wip of what i'm working on, more to come.

Again, thanks for the interest. I really didnt expected someone would go so far as to edit the pic ^_^\

As i have said before, it's WIP. I'll work on it more, the colors are not what they will be in final version. It's my stupidity for not correcting for my netbooks poor lcd, but yeah... Thanks again

All that is on my to-do list. Shadows, tweaking the colors in general and much more. I'll lamishly blame the colors on my netbook i do most (well, all) of the works. It has really low contrast display with very cool colors. And in my stupidity i forgot to compensate for it befor posting it here. Well, next time. It's not last WIP by all means ^_^

Thanks. Everything is still pretty much in developement, will work on the character as well. Especialy since i'll have to animate it in four directions and all that ^_^

I desaturated a lot of things (especially the character). I got rid of the dirt dithering under the planks because it just made it feel messy rather than add anything. (may be a personal thing) and decreased the number of colours in your grass by alot. (drawback being the tile effect is very obvious)

I agree with CobaltHex. The character is too high-key and saturated for the mockup, adding a few buffer shades and lowering the saturation would help it blend imo [ edit ]

We've added this piece to the gallery because member votes are high enough to take into account. However, I think the grass FX, tool or downsampling or whatever you did there is a major weakness on this as pixelart. I would not have added this piece for that reason.

In future work please try to keep PJ gallery pieces pure ;)

Strange. According to my calculations, there should be about 42 colors in it. Still pretty large number, but not important right now. I must have forgot to decimate the grass colors. Thans for pointing that out to me.

It's not called WIP for nothing you see ^_^

Anyway, only part where i used brushes in gimp was on the grassy field, but i tought i downsampled it to 16 colors afterwards. maybe i forgot...

The rest is hand drawn, mostly 3 or 4 clors per tile and layer. There might be some excessive colors and i will work on it later on. For now, i'm not concerned about it that much. And besides, cellphones today can manage much more colors then this ^_^ (i know, heresy. consider it a joke ^_^)

 It looks like you used filters, unless you honestly picked out all 97 colors yourself. Could you lower the color count to something resonable?
