Well, yes, that's my point. If you can't be sure everyone is using the same BG, you can't AA the outline unless I'm missing something.

 For the record, not everyone uses the dark grey BG, nor is Crafty a he.

The thing is that he'd need to AA with the grey background of Pixel Joint in mind otherwise it would be useless. 

 really? oh well, i think it helps,  it makes it look smooooooother and cleaner. guess that's just self opnion then.
