Fun fact: The Megaman sprite, the life sprite and the health bar were made to look like that on purpose (and due to my spriting skills as well); think of it as a game where a bad spriter hacks Megaman in, causing the Megaman sprite (and some of the HUD) to stand out more than sprites and the landscape, and look bad while at it.

Also kudos to you if you can spot a reference. If it's not too vague...
