I tried my best, but this palette is probably my least favorite from all the challenges I took part in.
The thick outlines help a bit, but the sprites still get a bit lost in the scenery sometimes.

Dang...I couldn't resist calling out "HOLY COW" when this finished loading for me. What a humongous, breathtaking mockup.

YOU DESERVE IT! ;) I knew you were going to earn the first place :B

user
Faceless (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 12/5/2013 15:14

Was going to comment on the palette until I read your description. Nice work. I think the spider bots could use a tilt in perspective to match the background more.

user
ToSta (Level 3 Enforcer) @ 12/5/2013 14:53

another "hardcore" picture. awsome!

user
Sohei (Level 7 Ichikyu) @ 12/4/2013 10:23

Everything reads so perfectly. I've learned something new today.  Amazing level of color and contrast handling.

Decisive winner.

user
Phexion (Level 5 Detective) @ 12/4/2013 01:21

A definite award worthy piece here

user
exocet (Level 6 Major) @ 12/3/2013 13:53

Clearly not an ideal palette but you made the best of it.

user
thee_owl (Level 2 Hired Gun) @ 12/2/2013 17:15

this is very enjoyable

user
Stickman (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/2/2013 13:12

Man. You smashed that palette!

Lovely pic.

user
kuznetsowski (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 12/2/2013 02:29

Whoa, very well done  :]

user
jamon (Level 10 Operative) @ 12/2/2013 02:02

 Top! fantastic use of palete.

user
Nether (Level 5 NES) @ 12/1/2013 23:14

I have to agree with Emperor_Pixel, this is winning material right here. Wouldn't expect anything less from you and I really think you made good use of the palette.

user
Emperor_Pixel (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 12/1/2013 22:36

Oh, we all know who won the challenge now.

xD

user
ultimaodin (Level 3 Corporate Drone) @ 12/1/2013 21:53

I get so excited whenever I see that preview banner. Always those lovely speculars

*drool

user
EvilEagles (Level 5 Detective) @ 12/1/2013 20:02

Fantastic use of the palette. I'm blown.

user
Elk (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 12/1/2013 19:38

 nailed

could have put some blue into the background though for more depth :D or maybe even have a disortion effect to show the heat

user
AtskaHeart (Level 8 Regional Boss) @ 12/1/2013 19:00

The piece is amazing and the way you used the palette too. Problem I see with the palette is that there isn't a good buffer for that green.

user
Tricxta (Level 4 Mercenary) @ 12/1/2013 17:34

Wow, nice pallette utilisation.  Nailed it!

user
castled (Level 3 Chief) @ 12/1/2013 17:23

I agree about the palette. It looks good at first and 11 seems like plenty of colors but so many of them are similar and desaturated. It really only lends itself to backgrounds, which really shows in the beautiful backgrounds here!

user
DawnBringer (Level 10 Pixel artist) @ 12/1/2013 17:19

You made that palette your bitch!

user
philippejugnet (Level 6 Hitman) @ 12/1/2013 16:49

 ok GG

user
Mandrill (Level 9 T-rex) @ 12/1/2013 16:44

Lovely mockup. Just looking at it makes me happy. :)

user
Drazelic (Level 8 Partner) @ 12/1/2013 16:36

Looks like the preview is much more interesting now :P Nice work!

user
Mr.Fahrenheit (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 12/1/2013 16:06

I love the rocks, agree with gecimen though

user
Gecimen (Level 11 Sphinx) @ 12/1/2013 15:58

This shouldn't be coming from me but I'll confess; I didn't even bothered clicking on the preview until I realised the diagonal preview text. Bad, bad preview, amazing piece. And to be perfectly honest, seeing this piece, the palette looks quite good as well. I know though, there are those palettes that are hard to work with but turns out well.

user
FinoRaptor (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 12/1/2013 15:39

Holy shit.... I can't compete with this kind of people... ahhahah Nice job :') you deserver the first place

user
skamocore (Level 11 Dolphin) @ 12/1/2013 15:31

:( Yeah, I struggled with making a good desert palette - there probably should have been a lighter colour, huh. Anyway, your piece still turned out pretty nicely.
