@zombi2 - It's totally a throwback to the game's major inspiration - Phantis - a ZX Spectrum game by Carlos Abrir.
Why can't you? Some basic animation moving like 30 pixels left than back right to show parallax would do the job I think.
The background is beautiful. It takes a while to notice the repeatition of the close to us layer. Voted on Steam. I'm curious what's the idea behind the naturalism of the main character. That belly :D
Great! remind me on old game "Game Over 2" by Dynamics ;)
wish you all the best with the game?
And - how you made it some midlleware or plain code?
Thank you very much for all the kind words, and to the people who actually bought the game/voted for it on Steam: )
Ulti took about 3.5 months to make in parallel with Legend of Iya, but I am trying to keep my distractions to a minimum now.
The song from the trailer is actually in the game - a much longer cut of it is in the credits roll (I am thanking all the LOI Kickstarter supporters in it, so those are LOONG credits: )
You can also get the soundtrack off Virt's bandcamp: http://virt.bandcamp.com/album/ultionus-a-soundtrack-of-petty-revenge
Oh and yes, of course I'd also like to see Legend Of Iya on the Ouya... Just so you know.. :p
The soundtrack - man...that is beautiful.
Is the soundtrack also on the game itself at some point?
I really like the look of this game as it has a megadrive feel to it. But what I really like about the platforming levels is the slower pace. It's almost like Ghost n Goblins in which you cant just run through the whole game blasting. I much prefer this type of slow pace.
This came out before Legend of Iya. How long did Ultionus take to make?
Wonderful colors, I love the scene. I also watch the trailer of this game, and it looks very nice.
EDIT (I missunderstood something about the release):
Maybe I will purchase it later, next month. Anyway, I will vote your game on steam as well.
Keep up the good work.
Bought the Ouya version and enjoed it very much. Some great pixel art going on there. Really love the colorful 90s style graphics. Well animated, too.
Looks great, and that game trailer looks even greater (yay boobs). Think I might have to buy this.
Whoops - didn't notice that - it was a slightly old version. Replaced with a proper one.
In the game this background is actually in 3 parallax layers - it annoys me that I can't show off the datail of all three at once: )
That thick line on the top of the piece isnt doing it for me, kind of distracting actually
Other than that it's beautiful!
I really love the light :D
