This has been on my mind for a few wees and I finally got the time to put it together. After being part of the original pitch to do a new Ducktales game, I got thinking on how I would do a sequel to the Rescue Rangers NES games I grew up with. This is the result.
I know I would do a requel and not a remake, as it would allow for some new ideas. I would make Gadget and Monty playable characters for one thing, and you can now see how many flower cards you've collected. The rest I'll keep to myself for now.
The look draws elements from both the game and the show. I've tried making things keep their proper scale a little better than the NES games, which is why the enemy shown is the robot mouse rather than the dog-bot that was supposed to be, well... dog sized. I've incorporated some references to the first game (fence, brick housing, while pointing to the show's New York-like location.
I'm working on new computers right now, so the colors are difficult to get right. I haven't put too many restrictions on color use, though if I was less picky I would probably have a warmer palette up front.
