Great work. I was a C64 guy, but the Speccy has become comparably nostalgic to me.
Guys, you are so kind - your positive feedback warm my soul!
I'm a sucker for throwback stuff and this is no exception! Beautiful through and through. The liberties you took were well worth it, even if it's not exactly to ZX spec... the nuanced art with the animation offers a lot to admire. Definately one of my favorite things to grace pixel joint in 2014! Excellent!
Even though the palette could not be used this way (closest thing was Shadow Warriors), it definitely does not take away the awesomness of this pic!
Love it!
It looks like an EGA game, not like a ZX Spectrum (i think the palettes were similar). Awesome work, it should have been of that quality or even better on the Amiga/ST.
Sweet work, great animation with lots of nice touches like the antenna when crouching!
Big upgrade from the original. Awesome animation, too.
Using the ZX Spectrum palette in this (inaccurate) way actually reminds me more of some old DOS games. It looks very cool either way. I had Exolon on my CPC. Was a good game. :)
I love the little details, like the bouncing antennae on his backpack thingy.
Awesome stuff!
Thanks people )
@Helm - I heard about that. Think, just that long time ago it was depends of the program code. Maybe that time it was the only way :)
I can't exactly remember what I wrote but I know for sure that I'm still blown away by this piece.
It's lovely. You're aware that a cel on the ZX can only have two colors and both of them have to be either from the bright or dark row, right?
Wow this is so impressive. What you accomplished with these colors is mind boggling. The animation is so juicy too. I'm in love with the plants.
OMG, nice animation!!!
Good use of color regarding the ZX spectrum
@all, something in a post in the previous submission broke PJ.
Please repost your comments and rate and fave...sowwwy :(
This was one of my favorite Speccy games of all times! An amazing update!
I wish the Nirvana engine could be used to get a similar look on the real hardware.
