Will animate a 32 x 32 top down sprite. I will not animate somethign this big, but still possible.
You're going to animate this? Even the idea of that task frightens me...
this is pretty huge for pixel art O_O awesome work dude <3
Is... awesome, beautiful, badass, cute and epic at the same time xDD. I realy love the fantasy atmosphere of your style, the colors, the weapons and the clothers <3.
So much awesome about this; love the palette and simple coloring, stance, and her weapons are cool as all hell. I like the stance, it looks very confident and strong, and the shield may not look realistic but it does look rad. Matches the staff, too.
Complete and utter lack of a nose is bugging me tho.
I'm very thankful for the comment. You are right, the design was very complex, to translate it to a small sprite I have to remove some details and retain only those I think are major features. The shield and the staff will not be visible since including it will add a more workload for me.
I might update this piece :)
[oh how I hate it when, my browser messes up, when you've almost finished writing a massive comment >; *tries to shorten* ]
Very clean lines and clusters, the Design is really neat, and complex -> beware to not make the sprite too overdetailed, because the initial design has so much of it! Also, I am not sure how many frames she will potentialy have, but sprite size is a considerable factor.
(more) Asymetric shadowing on her torso and cloth will probably boost the overall plasticy quite a bit.
Appart from the stance, that was mentioned, there's a few odd spots in anatomy ( most of which I know just to painfully well myself ):
Her upper arms seem a bit too long. 2-4 less pixels in length would help to bring the hand/hip ratio into a more harmonic ratio.
a clear indication of ankles can help a lot to make skewed/cartoon anatomy a lot more believable.
the shield could work a lot "better" if it had a proper grip and strapping. Medieval shields usually had a rigid handle, and leather straps attached to hold the shield fixated to the lower arm.
and, I rather stop here before my browser decides to eat my message for w.e. reason. Really nice design though. Looking forward to that animated version. :)
Thanks, I just noticed it too. I'll practice more on that next time. For the contraption on the her right hand, I was planning to place a shield there but, I cant get it right so I ended up putting some madeup something there. At the end it seems like it is not being worn.
Really nice, pehaps the stance is a little too wide (looks a bit uncomfortable) and I'm unsure of the contraption that is being held in the (our) right hand.
Very nice. Lines, detail, concept, warmth... Hah, I repeat myself.
